A LITTLE HISTORY
THE HOUSE

Located today at the end of a little country lane, this large customs house built in 1700 by a farmer, has been used to keep a close watch on the frontier between Brittany, that did not have to pay the salt tax and the region of Anjou.

As a proof of the fiscal inflexibility of the Old Government, the house takes part in the Colbertist surveillance measures.

Ironically, it was the, used during the Terror as a watching post by the customs officers charged with the salt tax, who mostly turn into royalist insurgents.

Other remains of this agitated time are really close from the house : the Ancient Gallery Slave Court, the old Salt Store of Pouancé, the Old Customs of Angers and the monument of Father Noel Pinot.

The Logis des Gabelous, located between Nantes and Angers, is a large bucolic house of more than 200 square meters, overlooking a quiet countryside in a rural area.

This house is perfect to welcome large families or groups of friends. All year long the house can accommodate up to 15 persons.

You will be able to enjoy the outdoor swimming pool in the garden, for an idyllic stay.

You are welcome to come and discover the Loire Valley.

The Logis des Gabelous is the perfect pied-à-terre to visit the Loire Châteaux, to admire the Machines de l'Île and to have fun in numerous amusement parks.
